S/S14 Dancing Dolls UK: Progress through process

On stepping into the DDUK design & work space, its easy to forget that, actually its early January; cold with heavy. miserable rain and summer is still, like 6 months away- what, with all that talk of Spring/Summer, the words 'S/S14' constantly being thrown about these four walls and realms of Summery fabric shades smothering everywhere.
It definitely feels like Summer in here....until, of course, you open the studio door to that very, uninviting brisk air. That's just in the corridor, by the way!
It may be just under 6 months until Summer season. However, for us, its more like 6 weeks! We're aiming - actually, we have to- have the collection ready for sale, by this time.

So, what's it about- this S/S14 shizzle.

We're usually quite coy, about our working process. Not this time- we're giving you a behind the seams, look at our progress through process.

The Collection.
It's no secret; each season whilst at the design stage, we take a walk down memory lane for a 'reflection of direction'. It helps us process our journey; you know- understanding where, we've come from, to know where we are going...and blah, blah, blah.

This time round, we pay homage to our very first Spring/Summer collection 'Doll Domination' from 2010 -Wow! We've come a fair way!
We're celebrating the original dance wear inspired fashion looks with a hint of sports luxe meets dominatrix.

Using the female body's sexual prowess as our muse, we're channelling our signature 'urban, sexy, chic' heritage, carefully  portrayed in a selected complimentary palette of: black, sulphur green, sea blue, cream and beige. You'll see a whole load of our original style inspirations:

- DDUK signature ballet inspired voluminous skirts
- exposed skin: mesh panels, denuded backs and
- contour wear: bodysuits, catsuits, swimsuits....

....We've even resurrected that hooded swimsuit; cut it in half and given it an urban 'Hello boys' #Wonderbra attitude.

The new collection aims to arouse an emotion of lust and provocative power dressing. Body Language S/S14 will be ready to view and purchase as from the end of February.
